Price range help please
I am looking for a pre 64 action and barrel, the guy i am talking to says it has been used and most bluing is gone, but no extra holes. it was hunted with quite a bit, and stock was thrown away due to being basically useless.

300 H&H

can you give me a ball park idea of what might be a fair price.

thanks

I guess it depends on how bad you want it. Does it include all bottom metal? Pre-war or Post war. Both sights, front and rear. These are all factors.
If complete with all bottom metal,

Pre-war-600
Post war-500

I sold the last H&H length action I had for $750 about a year ago. 300 H&H barrels sell on Ebay for $100 and up. If any of you guys have 300H&H barreled actions for $500-650, I'll take 'em all.

I did find out after posting that the barrel is not original. its dated from 1949 and action is dated from mid 50's. Been re blued.

I wouldn't pay more than $500 for it, and that's assuming all the metal is there. You've got to add a stock and even if you do it yourself you're going to have at least $250 worth of time and materials in that, putting you at $750 for a shooter and you have no idea if the barrel is any good or not.
