M100 extractor
Does anyone have any info on where I might be able to find a Winchester M100 extractor? Thank you.

Bob's Gun Parts lists it:

but it's been my experience they don't always have what they list - S40

Jack First in Rapid City, SD, has them. I recently replace the extractor and spring in a 243. If you have a broken extractor, check to see if somebody raised a burr on the edge of the barrel when extracting a stuck case with a screwdriver or knife blade. I didn't do that and broke the 1st new extractor on the 1st shot.

I may be wrong here, but the reputation of the model 100 as a "jamamatic" may be due to the different extractors they used. I have three packs of different ones by serial number. If you emai me the S/N of your rifle, I will see if I have one for you. I bought a bunch of thes quite a while back.

S40,

Thanks for the info, I have e-mailed them to see what the price and availability is.

Jeff,

Thanks for the tip. I will certainly check out the chamber before it is fired again.

Jim,

Veeeerrry Interesting. I will e-mail you with the S/N. There is no rush on this by the way. I bought it for my 3 1/2 year old grandson Hunter. Smiler

Thanks again, guys.

Jim Kobe, others also

When we were doing warranty work on these 100's,there was a guage to use on the extractor for clearance. If this space was more than the gauge allowed, than we had to replace the bolt head and check the headspace. I am not sure if these guages are available now. When one works warranty on guns, you get info from the factory that most people never seen. Just my 2cts worth
