Ruger Parts #Revised"
Who has Ruger #1 parts besides Ruger and Numrich? need a lost part so I can get it back together. Ruger needs the whole gun (has a new barrel) and Numrich is out of stock. I need the toggle lever.

Why not just contact Ruger if it is a "factory restricted part"?
I've found Ruger to be an absolute peach to deal with the couple times I've needed something.
Just a thought....

I'm sure you don't remember me but I've visited with you a couple times at the American Custom Gunmakers Guild at the Dallas Safari Club. We discussed making cutters for cutting a widows peak in the fore end. You were telling me you used a factory made router bit called a pointed round over bit . I bought a couple of your M70 safeties for a 98 Mauser.

There is a very large used gun parts dealer in the Dallas area that may have a few Ruger No. 1 parts. Jeff Lee, 3401 W. Pioneer, Irving, TX 75061-1639 Phone 972-790-0773 Tues, Wed, Thursday 9-5 pm. He is pretty busy but just keep calling and you will finally get through.

Do you know an ACGG member David Cristman ? He builds quite a few custom rifles on Ruger No. 1 actions. Maybe he could be of some help. He is at 216 Rundell, Loop Rd. , Delhi, LA 71232 Phone 318 878 1395 .

Factory restricted parts means that Ruger wants you to send the rifle in to them. They will not relent on that policy, for me at least.

Years ago I used to work with Jeff Lee in Dallas.
He had a thriving parts and gun show business in the early 1980's and held down a full time job as a Project Manager for an Electrical Contractor.
I lost touch with him years ago, I heard his daughter and her husband were taking over the business.

I guess if one has all the machine tools necessary one could make one.

Very time consuming meaning a lot of added cost.

Might be simpler to buy a used rifle parting it out.

Heck with the price of some parts one might be-able to make a profit

Yes I have had my No.1s and 3s apart before.

As I stated it would be very time consuming and expensive to make one.

But then I don't have a customers rifle that I lost a critical part for.

Sending it to Ruger with custom work done to it. All they would want to do is bring it back to factory specs.

Try on the ASSRA forum. Pretty good good chance someone over there will have one.

Or you could buy a NO.1 take the part out that is needed and then send the donor rifle to Ruger to have the part replaced.

Snellstrom,
Jeff is still there. I bought a few parts from him couple of months ago. I have known him since 1992 when I was gunsmithing in east Texas. His daughter helped him run the business a few years ago. She was very good at it, very knowledgeable. Then she left, I'm not sure why. He is a very sharp and wity guy. I always like visiting with him.

When you "assume" you make an "ass" out of "U" and "ME"

It came in the shop that way. Go relish in your high post count, you must be and expert

I misquote the name of the part, according to Numrich, it is the "Breech Block Arm" their p/n 224520B

Would be interested in a parts gun, anyone?
