Synthetic stock for Cooey 71
I have a bolt action Cooey Model 71 in .308 that I would like to get an aftermarket stock for. I have not been able to find a drop in stock for it , or any cross reference charts for some thing that would fit, or that I could modify and make work. I'm assuming that a Winchester Model 70 might be close. Does anyone here know what might work? I don't have access to many other guns to compare them personally. Any info would be much appreciated.

bushman I put a Cooey 71 into a rem 700 ADL synthetic stock quite a few years ago. The Cooey action is round ,similar to the Rem. You have to open up the recoil lug slot a bit, the magazine box opening andI believe you have to fill in around the tang area and trigger guard a bit. Hope that helps

Thanks for the info. I thought the Remington stock I looked at might be close . The pinheads at SIR wouldn't let me open the package and check it against the actual action before buying it.
