Looking for a piece of brown laminate
I'm looking for a piece of the brown laminate stock wood so I can cut out a piece to fit into the safety notch of a stock I'm trying to repair. Hopefully someone has a take-off stock that is of no use other than for cutting pieces off to repair another stock.

Otherwise a suggestion as to another source for this kind of wood would be appreciated.

Thanks,
KB

How about fitting a solid wood block into the notch. Than, use paint or stain and a tiny brush and masking tape to simulate the laminations? There is a fellow going around the mid-west gun shows who uses this method to repair stocks that have been broken, even if chunks of wood are missing. If he can match up wood grain, then the straight lines of laminate should be a breeze.

I've got a 2" tip that I cut off a brown laminate which was replaced by an ebony tip. Should be more than enough material running in the right direction in this piece to do your repair. PM your mailing address and you can have it for the cost of postage. Ron
