which end is the breech ? has 18 on one end ! I assume that is the breech end !

I didn't know that by turning a barrel around backwards would force the rifling to change from righty to lefty.

The end that has the letters/numbers stamped in it will be the breech end.

So if you turn a taper on the barrel will you end up with a gain twist?

Depends on which way you taper it, you might end up with a lose twist....
