10at6Mark Lee Expess Blue?
I am completing my second project with this system. A 1903 Springfield and Biesen stock. Everything turned out great except the floorplate metal...just the bottom plate, the trigger guard is great. I did the floorplate twice and polished nicley to 300 grit each time. The piece in question seems to develop an almost Damascus pattern of excess rust and pitting. Any suggestion on what may be wrong? The product seems to produce great results and aqppears to be durable. Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks Randy

LesBrooksTry annealing at 500 degrees for 30 minutes and then polish to 280. Hard spots can cause problems.

ScrollcutterA couple of possibilities:
#1. You are allowing too much time to elapse between coats.
#2. Your floorplate is too cool when you apply the solution. This is the most likely. The floorplate is thin so cools off pretty quickly. Your solution should evaporate almost as quickly as you apply it. If not, the metal is too cool or your applicator is too wet.
Good luck, Roger
