<Savage 99>Flat Black Touch Up
What do you use for flat black touch up on steel and aluminum for that matter.
I just tested some Aluminum Black Metal Touch Up by Birchwood Casey on a piece of CRS. It's blacker and flatter than 44-40 and just as easy to use. I put some ammonia type bore cleaner on the surfaces and both survived. The Birchwood Casey product seems just as scratch resistant as the other.

LoneEagleBar-B-Q black is a ringer for most of the Aluminum pieces on guns. Especially Ruger Single Actions. Sean

<Savage 99>Bore cleaners will remove most paint as will some lubes.
I don't know what is for sale in Australia.
A surprise is that a product listed as "aluminum black" will blacken steel!
The label says that it contains selenium dioxide.
