1909 Peruvian firing pin

I recently purchased a 1909 Peruvian from a fellow forum member. The action arrived and all looks good... Except that the firing pin is broken.

I am wondering how hard it is going to be to come up with a replacement. Can a standard length 98 firing pin be cut down and re-grooved to fit the 09 Peruvian?

I have a 3 day inspection and I want to make sure that this is going to replaceable. The seller seems like a solid guy and I am sure that he didn't realize that it was broken.

My next step is going to be to contact him, but I am hoping that I can get this action fixed instead of sending it back for a refund.

Yes, that can easy be done .

Lathe turning one more cut , turning the hind and shorten the necessary amount.

Don´t forget to lengthen the flat parts of the striker pin a bit forward.
Otherwise you cant press the ´cocking piece nut down to reassemble

Sorry it´s not the cocking piece , but the bolt sleeve that is prevented coming down enough, when the flats are not lengthened.

A Turkish 1903 Pin is a direct replacement. Barring that, an intermediate like those used in the Yugo 24, 24/47, and M48's will work, but the pin will not sit flush with the end of the original cocking pice. You can simply use the intermediate CP too if that bothers you.
