Sako lock time issue
My sako AII with original trigger has a trigger/lock time issue.

On dry firing I thought the sound was slightly different - I checked and put it down to being used to my M700 at present.

Next time out I shot a buck and remember distinctly hearing the sear trip and enough time before the shot went off that I thought I had a misfire (luckily I didn't flinch and the buck dropped)

It hasn't done it since on dry firing but it doesn't sound as snappy as I would like sometimes. I've taken the bolt apart and removed what might have been an XS of grease but little has changed.

The nut of the cocking piece which bears on the trigger and runs in the 'trough' at the bottom of the action shows wear on the bolt handle side with corresponding wear on the action. I wondered if this could be bearing and that without oil it's causing the firing pin to delay or hang up.

Suggestions gratefuly received - it'll have to go off to the smith I think but I would like some pointers.

Simply due to wear and tear over the years.
Had the same on one of my older Sako's.

Take it to your gunsmith, will fix it quickly if he is experienced enough.
