OldcoyoteRefinish Checkering
I have a Ruger and the stock was refinished many years ago, supposedly with an "oil finish". The finish looks good and is in good shape. I had the stock recheckered and so now the checkering must be refinished. I put a drop of GB Linspeed on the uncheckered portion, rubbed it in, let it dry and it seemed compatible.
Should I refinish the checkering with the GB Linspeed or something else? Any tips?
Thanks

GB will work fine but I would put on a drop and polish it into the checkering with an old toothbrush, not letting it build up. Do this a couple of times and it should look pretty good and be functional as well.

Bill SovernsDembart checkering oil. Flood the checkering and then wipe it off. 2 coats should do you.

butchloca light dainish oil works well- scrub it in with a brush for 2-3 coats.
