TGetzen1903 Turk, so far (pics - lots)
It is actually much smoother than it looks, the flash is highlighting tiny surface marks. All edges are stoned straight and sharp, and flats are flat. It is ready for barreling, then bluing. I am considering something very cool for the front ring and left rail - more later if it works.

TGetzenRE: this Turk vs other Mausers, it stacks up very well. It was made at Oberndorf at the height of their excellence. Finding a 1903 Turk in the relatively excellent shape this one was is another story, however.

TGetzenOne more thing that's cool about this rig, which you probably can't see in the pics -- that's a commercial proofed Oberndorf bolt, in fantastic shape (bolt face looks unfired). Not sure what exactly it is from, but it is the proper type of bolt for a 1903 Turk / 1909 Peruvian. The bend is factory, which is the confusing issue -- neither of them should have a factory bent bolt as far as I know.

I like those Turk 03 actions also. I like the look of the high charger clip hump along with the longer receiver ring.
All of the 1903 Tuk actions that I have seen have the front ring undercut to provide a lip to hold the rear of the handguard. I beleive this undercut was done by the Turk arsenals. If you surface grind the receiver ring to remove the turk crest (here I assume your action had a front ring crest) it looks like the lip will be removed because it is pretty thin. Did you remove the lip from the front? Could you please post pictures of the front of the receiver ring?
Keep adding updates and pictures for this topic so I can use it for refernce material when I attempt to clean up my Turk 03 actions.
