Best twist rate for 7X57
What would be optimum twist rate for the 7X57? Bullet weight 150 to 160 gr. lead core premium bullets. 1-9 or 1-9.5 or faster?

Just as a point of information, Rigby use a 1:8.67 inches (1:22 centimeters) twist rate on the .275 Rigby Highland Stalker.

Michael:
Isn't 1:8.66 the standard military twist rate?

It was, 220mm, to stabilize the long 173 grain round nose bullet used in the 1893 Mauser. The 7x57 was a Mauser development; the 8mm, wasn't. So when we now use a 9 inch twist, that will stabilize anything because most of use do not use long FMJ round noses any more.
