Dakota barrel thread
Anyone know what the barrel thread is on a Dakota Model 97?

Since it's Dakota's version of a Rem action I would say 1.0625" X 16 TPI But you never know till the barrel comes off.

When someone confirms the size I'll add it to my cheat sheet.

Can't remember if they opened up the thread on the 97. It was a 76 action stuck on a mandrel and turned round. It was not based on the Rem. Then they moved the trigger pin holes to fit a rem trigger. Then the can of worms reared it's head when there was nothing to hold the top of the magazine box because they turned the m70 flange off.

Would have been easier to just copy a Rem.

The African action was 1"-16 when I worked there. At some point some of the threads were changed to 18 TPI. Your best bet is to just measure what you have. Too many variations.
