Jim KobeW-L is a good choice, so is Shilen, Lilja, Hart, Krieger, Schneider. Depends on what you want it for. Twist rate should be 1-14", some will recommend 1-12" for the 55 gr bullets. You can expect to pay upwards of $275-$325 for one of these.

<John Lewis>I would add Pac-Nor to Jim Kobe's list. I haven't tried Walther barrels in a while. I had a couple for a customer about 9 years ago that were some of the worst barrels I've ever seen and they left a bad taste in my mouth. I guess I'll have to give them another try.

Droptinei just went through the same process and finally decided on a LW stainless barrel.
Here is a link to some targets shot with Walther barrels.

<John Lewis>jpb - It isn't the machining of them. I've done that for a few customer's over the years. The one's I had problems with were really rough. I borescoped them and was appalled by how bad they were. But as I said, that was a while ago.
