Screw Size for Rem 700 Iron Sights?

Just a quick question - I want to plug the screw holes in a Rem 700 where I've removed the front and rear iron sights. What is the screw size? I hope to get the filler screws at a local hardware store, but in case I can't, is there an online merchant that carries them? Thanks for your help.

If I reacll correctly they are 6x48 screws and you will not find them at the hardware store. Brownells sells plug screws made for the task.

Just checked on an old barrel laying around, they are 6-48.
