penrod72er shaw barrels?
am interested in er shaw barrels, but have some questions:
- do they have a web site
- anyone have their phone number or another way to get their price list
- are chambers fully cut, etc, - what work would my gunsmith have to do to fit one to my savage action?
- your opinion on them for a hunting rifle in 250 savage

Rob1SGI had one installed and the action done for $320. The best group so far in 338-06 was 3/8" but it will group 3/4" with most loads(3 shot groups). They don't have a website. I'll let you know the address when I get home today. I am very happy with the barrel and other work they did but it took a month longer than they said it would. Mailed the barreled action to them in Jan. and recieved it in June.

CraigPpenrod,
you can contact E.R. Shaw at 5312 Thoms Run Rd.; Bridgeville, PA 15017...their phone number is 412-221-3636...fax number 412-221-4303
Rob,
what length and contour barrel did you get? Which action are using? I'm having a Shaw 2 1/2 contour barrel in 338-06 put on a VZ-24 action. The barrel finished out at 22 inches. If you can, could you e-mail me some of your handload?

TGetzenPenrod,
Here are some fairly current prices from ER Shaw -- I just got their brochure a month or two ago:
Rifle barrels, finished, chambered, and threaded: $125 CrMo, $195 in 416 SS
Fit to action: $45
Alter action for Win Mag family: $50
Alter action for 375 length: $70
New bolt handle: $50
Seems pretty reasonable; probably worth the wait!
Good luck,
Todd
