I have a Rem M-760 WoodsMaster in 30/06. It is not a pump but an automatic. How is this possible? Did Rem ever offer to convert 760s to 742? The only other explaination I can think of is a mismarked receiver. Any thoughts?

All 760s were pumps. I would like to see a good photo of that reciever.

Try to look unimportant. Your enemy might be low on ammo.

There is someone that offers a kit to go from 740/742/7400 auto to pump, but I don't know about the other way around.

If I had to guess what you have, I would say that someone used a 760 receiver to repair a 740/742/7400.

Hunting in Africa is an adventure. The number of variables involved preclude the possibility of a perfect hunt. Some problems will arise. How you decide to handle them will determine how much you enjoy your hunt.

Just tell yourself, "it's all part of the adventure." Remember, if Robert Ruark had gotten upset every time problems with Harry
Selby's flat bed truck delayed the safari, Horn of the Hunter would have read like an indictment of Selby. But Ruark rolled with the punches, poured some gin, and enjoyed the adventure.
