trap door sling swivel

Hey guys,

I am slowly (as to savor) going through the SDH book on custom rifles in black and white. I got to the Maurice Ottmar one this morning with a trap door sling swivel. Anybody got more information and pics of these? Curious as to how often they are used, who has made them etc. I thought it was real neat, a different touch than the grip cap trap.

SDH's book is a real treat isn't it?

The Ottmar trap swivel is a gem and I notice it each time I look at that rifle. My guess would be that it is a custom piece as I have never seen another.

You might give Mr. Huges a call as he might know. Chic Worthing might also know as he was friends with Maurice Ottmar.
