Rem 700 BDL trigger adjustment
Rem 700 BDL trigger adjustment for weight as it's already crisp?

My Rem 700 BDL is just a couple years old and it's NOT the X-Mark Pro trigger.

Is this the way ya guys do it or is there another tutorial you suggest I look into?

http://www.snipercountry.com/A...emingtonTriggers.asp

Just want to be sure before I get into it...because some say just need to adjust the WEIGHT/TENSION SCREW instead of sychronizing all three screws? bewildered

Thanks!

The system you mention does work fine. The "old" 700 trigger is in my opininion one of the better ones for a factory trigger once it is adjusted properly. It is not suggested that you try and take it down below 2lbs. even though I have had some that would safely go a bit lower. Obviously what you do not want is the trigger going off when you shut the bolt and as a check for this once it is adjusted, work the bolt and work it briskly, harshly, 10-12 times to see if it goes off(empty chamber of course!!.) I have Jewells and they are fine trigger, but it is just a more precision made 700 trigger and my Long Range/High Power scores did not improve with a Jewell over a finely adjusted 700 trigger. Also saves you about 250.00 and that can be spent on powder, primers, brass and bullets which will make for a better shooter with time behind the gun. JMO

MFD,

I'd like to adjust its 10# Big Grin trigger pull down to 3 - 3.5 lb trigger pull for this hunting rifle.

I'll be sure to slam that bolt and smack that butt on the ground a good many times so I'm assured it won't go off Cool

Thanks!

Hey Ro,

Here's another one. I've used this method on 700's for a while now. Don't know how it compares with the sniper country method, but it has always worked fine for me.

This is the adjustment guide I have used on many 700's. It has worked outstanding for me.
