Borealis BobRefinishing BLR
My shooting buddy is thinking about a BLR, but he can't tolerate the gloss finish. Will Citrus Strip or something else work well on that plastic-like finish?
I was thinking he could just dull it a bit with 0000 steel wool, but suspect he would want to refinish it if practical.

HarryZip Strip works like a charm. Takes off Rem 700 bowling ball finishes.

weagleCitri Strip will take it right off. Slop it on thick, wrap it in aluminum foil and wait 30 mins. use stiff nylon bristle brush to make sure you get all the finish loose, then wipe it off with mineral spirits. I've done several brownings and it worked great.

Recoil RobPersonally I didn't think a BLR warranted the time to strip the gun completely. I went over it with OOOO steel wool and came away with a great satin no-glare finish. I can always buff it up again if I want to sell it.

BTW, glass bedding the forend and free floating the barrel really improved the accuracy on my .308, under 1" @100yds for 3 shots.
