Price of a Pre-64
Came accross a hefty old Winchester today and wondered what a fair price would be.

Pre-64 300 H&H with a fair bore. No pitting but the rifling was sort of rounded. Still shoots well enough for a 300 I would assume.

It had been restocked with a pretty decent piece of wood with some figure to it but left handed. Huge palm swell for like a 7 ft tall ape and cheek piece. The stock looks thick enough to take off the cheek piece and palm swell and do a little slimming for a nice straight stock gun.

What would be the going price for a gun like this?

BTW: SN might have been 6 digits, wondering if very many pre-64's went this high.

UPDATE Thanks to Dempsey, production date looks to be 1956.

The action alone could sell for over $800 if it is in good shape without any extra holes.

I passed on it.

I believe it went for something like $5-600.

Some stuff just went for alot of money like this. Then again Mossberg shotguns went for $250 while Model 12's went for $150.

Go figure.
