Browning 1886 to .50 Alaskan
What modifications are required to convert a Browning M1886, either .348 Win or .45-70, to .50 Alaskan? I have limited experience with the M1886 and would appreciate your comments. Thanks.

the man to call! If it is an 86, they can do a 50-110 too. I have had them do both a 50 Alaskan and a 50-110 for me.

buckeye shooter, I sure like the 50-110 Win. I have had all one shot kills with it using CEB bullets on cape buffalo.

I generally shoot the 450 Barnes Original or the Woodleigh 535 grain. Everything I have shot dies right there.

I believe it. The 50-110 is just on the gentle side of 500 NE. I think that bullet diameter gets underrated and velocity gets overrated especially in big bores.
The little bit of buffalo hunting that I have done has convinced me that the magic in terminal performance begins at 50 Cal.
