Need pic of floorplate latch.
Anyone have a closeup picture or diagram of an inside the bow floorplate latch? I'm getting ready to start on mine and I'd like to compare it to one before I cut on my triggerguard. I know I saw a diagram in some mauser book but I can't remember where.Thanks.

What you need is a mini blueprint or a scan of the latch- it's not too complicated but you want to make it right...

There is also a link to Jack Belk fitting a latch made of 1/4" O1 tool steel- several good pics- of course, he makes it look easy... Anyone know the link?

Does the Kuhnhausen Mauser book have a blueprint of the latch???

Does this help? Hotater Pics of Gunsmithing stuff

wanna577,

Get yourself a used copy of Jim Carmichel's "Do-It-Yourself Gunsmithing." Inside you'll find ideas on how to make a hinged triggerguard and a few other useful items. You could probably find what you're looking for in the Dunlap book too, but I don't yet own a copy of that one so I don't know for sure.

Good luck with your projects.

Thanks for the scans Pettson. They are great, but now I have to buy that book because it looks so interesting!

Here's one I had that's built on a military triggerguard. I like this style but also like the inside the bow style.

I think one of Carmichael's books has the detail on how to make this style.

Good shooting,

The scans came out of Jon Speed's book.
I didn't post them here as I didn't want to infringe on any copyrights.
