Oregon45Weibe M70 bottom metal pictures?
Anyone have pictures of Weibe's pre-64 Model 70 bottom metal? I'm thinking of using one for a project I'm putting together.

Oregon45Thanks CAS; is that a Legend stock? I've got one in Edge fill on order with D'arcy right now that the Weibe bottom metal will be used in.

Thanks for the pics CAS. I'm building a 30-06 on a 1947 vintage transition action. Going to use the Legend stock in Edge fill; Weibe bottom metal, and a #1 Lilja barrel. I really like how the contour of the trigger guard flows from the pistol grip on your rifle. The Weibe metal matches up well with D'arcy's stock.

CAS IIYou will need to do some filing and fitting to get it flush. I believe it was designed that way so that it could be fit to stocks with different grip shapes.

CAS III actually made that set. They are a copy of bases that Mike Scherz made for me several years back. I tried to get ahold of him to purchase another set, but couldn't locate him, so I made my own.

Are you looking to make more?

BoxheadMike is making me two sets right now, one for an FN and the other for a NH made M70 416 Rem. I have a set on a custom pre-64 M70 as well. IMO the nicest looking bases out there for Talley's. Gila River Gunworks.

brad mayThe trigger is very close to the rear of the trigger guard.
Is the bottom metal made like this or was the trigger changed out?

More of the bases? Yeah, I will probably make more, but if I charged based on the time and materials it took to make the first set, I would need to charge about $7000 per set to make it worth while.
