Martycheap bore scopes
It seems that a number of tool companies now offer inexpensive fiber optic inspection devices. Does anyone have experience with any of these for bore inspection? It occurs to me that having this capability on the bench would be useful to a shooter, if only to see how effectively a bore has been cleaned.

NakihunterI researched this about 12 to 18 months ago and found many from SE Asia. I got a quote from a Malaysian manufacturer for around US$400.
The common problem is most are only 12" probes though longer ones can be found.

carpetman1Not a bore scope, but at Wal Mart you can buy a fiber optic adapter that slides on/off the end of a mini mag flashlight and they do a pretty good job of lighting a bore for inspection--not exray but about$10.00.

The majority of the fowling is most often within 12 inches of the camber throat anyway. If the a barrel is rust pitted, all bets are off.

NakihunterYou still need to add about 6 inches for the action & chamber.
I'd be interested if anyone finds a good one worth buying at a low price.
