SunshineHow to remove hardchrome from a Walther PPK?
I h've got a Walther PPK which was hardchromed at the factory. Now I don't like the chrome anymore (stop laughing!) and I want to have it removed. Walther's reply: Stop, it can't be done. The gun might get damaged. True or not? I just can't stand this shiny piece anymore.

HenryC470I don't think you can get that stuff off.
If there was a way to get it off, wouldn't the fit of all the parts be a little loose? The chrome does have a thickness to it.
Maybe you could get it coated with one of those teflon coatings so it will be black or green.
Or you could sell it and buy a black gun. Financially, that's a wash. You have a gun, and you will have a gun. You're out no cash and may profit on the whole deal if someone wants to pay extra for the hard chrome.
If you pay someone to do something that is next to impossible, you will be out his fee, and you end up with a gun that might not shoot very well.

ready_on_the_rightSell it to some Pimp,(tongue firmly in cheek

) and buy yourself a PPK/S or regular PPK...
How does it look chromed?
I'm sure there are those out their who might be interested in owning it..
My PPK/S is one of my favorite pistols. Accurate and fits like a glove.

Ask one of the gun plating companies the risks of deplating. Not worth it . If you really don't want it sell it and buy a blued gun.

bowhuntrrlWhy not get it rechromed with Black Chrome?? That would definitely give it a unique look!
