IdaredI recently had an e-mail from someone who knows Earl very well and he passed on the fact that Jack O'Connor had nine rifles stocked by him during his lifetime.

Old Elk HunterEducate me please. If I wanted to get a stock blank in the same wood - what would I call it?
Is it just mineral steaked walnut?

ForrestBI'd call it medium honey quartersawn english with dark mineral streaks.
That Burgess/Milliron rifle is a beauty and a piece of American custom gunmaking history.

DavidReedWhat Forrest said. I have a similar blank hanging in my shop that I procured from the Dressel's. There's plenty of similar wood to be had from any of the wood dealers out there.
