Broomhandle Mauser gunsmith
Ended up with a "red 9" Broomhandle Mauser in trade. Don't know much about these, except field stripping. The bolt travel does not seem real smooth. Can anyone suggest someone who works on these? I would like to shoot it, but want to get it checked out and repaired/adjusted, if necessary before I try and shoot it.
Thanks in advance.

I haven't worked on one of these in about 30 year. Mostly, they don't need much working! Never thought they were "smooth", but they sure do what they were designed to do. I would not worry too much...clean it well, oil it sparingly

The pistol dissembles without tools, except for grip screws.

Take is apart, clean, lubricate, and look for any problems.
