Midway's new shipping rates

I think they finally realized they were losing a lot of business by hosing customers on shipping.

Glad to see the changed the charges. I frankly, have moved to other vendors. The best part in my opinion, is it looks like you no longer will be double charged for shipping when they are out of stock.
Now if I can get USPS shipping in my area ( I absolutely refuse to use UPS) they will get some business back.

Agree with both:
-They realized you can only screw people so long
-They don't get any of my business unless I can't get it anywhere else.

Their shipping rates were pathetic and they need to be punished for a long time, IMHO. They've done nothing to earn my business.

A while back he canceled the discount for C&R license holders. I suppose he is not going to advertise that anymore than necessary.

About the same time he canceled the discounts for all FFL holders. His "discounts" weren't worth squat, anyway. Never did much business with him.

I am still ticked about that. What a slap in the face!

I'm sure that most of you remember that Midway used to have free shipping on all orders. I remember when Larry 86ed that and began charging for shipping, Larry made a big deal about how Midway was hemorrhaging money on shipping. That didn't really bother me until he began posting photos of himself and his daughter on a full bag hunt in Tanzania.

Midway is way down on my list.

Hunting in Africa is an adventure. The number of variables involved preclude the possibility of a perfect hunt. Some problems will arise. How you decide to handle them will determine how much you enjoy your hunt.

Just tell yourself, "it's all part of the adventure." Remember, if Robert Ruark had gotten upset every time problems with Harry
Selby's flat bed truck delayed the safari, Horn of the Hunter would have read like an indictment of Selby. But Ruark rolled with the punches, poured some gin, and enjoyed the adventure.

Amazon actually has a fair bit of hunting, fishing, firearm accessory stuff. Not directly ammo guns ect - that would be too politically incorrect.

Good prices, great IT, free shipping for prime members.

In defense of the Potterfields, they have been extreme generous with NRA as well as some of the youth shooting programs.

Too bad most people don't hold their elected congressmen to such standards....that would save them a hell of a lot more money than the Potterfields ever could. Too much trouble I guess...but really it don't take any more effort to bash your elected officials than it does bashing Midway on shipping charges. Larry has way more morals than 98% of our DC morons combined.

They may help the NRA, but I will purchase nothing from them. I saw Mr. Larry at the DSC in 2013 and asked him if he knew where the ACGG guys were located. He said"Do I look like a porter".

My response would have been, "No, not at all, but your resemblance to an arrogant prick is very striking."
