eyeman416 Remington in a magnum action
I have an action from a 7Rem Mag. Can I put a 416 Rem Mag barrel and have it feed through this action?

Maybe.
What action is it?

tiggertateWhat brand is the action? Some easy, some need a new mag box only and some can't without major work. A 416 Taylor would be a sure bet in any action.

Allan DeGrootThe max OAL cartridge length of the 416Rem is 3.60"
This is the same as the 375H&H but significantly longer than the 3.290 Max length of the 7mmMag
I find it "odd" that the 7mmMag MAX OCL is actually shorter than the 30-06 COL of 3.340" when the 7mmMag was specifically designed to fit in a 30-06 length action.
If you have a Remington 700 or a Win M70 you'll be fine.
in anything else.... ?

Allan DeGrootThe Remington 700 in 7mmMag is built on Remington's "Long" action, which IS a
"Magnum" (375H&H length) action.
a 416 will go right in.
You probably won't need more than a few touchups to the feed rails, if that...
