JABFire Lapping?
What are your opinions on fire lapping? I'm specifically looking at the David Tubbs Final Finish System. I've used it on one rifle and while I didn't notice a change in accuracy the gun is much easier to clean. I'm considering trying it again and was curious as to some other experiences/opinions. The gun I'm looking to try it on is a 280 Rem that seems to have a rough barrel...takes a lot of work to get clean compared to my other rifles. Thanks for the help.

<Scott H>I used Tubb's FinalFinish on a couple of my rifles. I noticed increased velocities for these rifles. I noticed a much smoother feel with a tight patch by grit #3.
My swede 29" improved accuracy and showed no tendancy to foul with moly bullets. Both rifles seem to clean up much quicker than before lapping.

<George Capriola>I used the NECO system on my Ruger 77/22VHZ. There was no improvement in accuracy, but the barrel was noticeably easier to clean.

I had the same results with the Tubbs system. Much easier to clean and greatly reduced copper fouling. No difference in accuracy.

<bearlake>I am looking to get a new 7mm mag Savage and am planning on starting out with molly bullets and only using molly bullets. This "fire lapping" sounds like a good thing to do before i even shoot the first molly bullet through the new gun. What do you guys think?
