Bisley Vise on eBay
These have been discussed here and are quite handy vises. This one's an original w/accessories.

I'm not the seller nor do I know the seller, just a PSA

Rob,
I have an original like the one on eBay but mine just has the rectangular base. It is a fine vice and very handy.

Looking in my prewar Parker Hale catalogs, the original model of this vise was made with semi circular clamps so you could latch it onto a tent pole at the Bisley encampment. The version that would hitch to a workbench, like the one on ebay, was a bit of an afterthought. England forever!

vigillinus,
You are right, those are the castings with the holes. I have never seen them before.

I got one last year on Ebay, new in the box w/ the instructions. Mine didn't have the bench mount (wasn't even mentioned in the instructions) but came with the tent pole clamps that had the original leather straps in excellent condition, just put some leather treatment on them. Might come in handy next time on a one month safari, living in a tent...

Last month I lucked out on ebay and got one of the new production Golmatic versions for $70, never used. I carry that to the range with me now for scope adjustments and such. It is a very well made vise, alumnum body, damn handy.

Chick, did you take the Francotte with you on your recent bird hunting expedition?

Rob,
Yes I did take it to South Dakota and took quite a few pheasants with it. I have a new favorite bird gun thanks to you. I shot it at skeet using 7/8 and 1 ounce loads and broke a 23 and then a 24 with it. It is a delight to carry. I will send you photos. I also need to get the documentation letter done for you. Not forgotten, just put off, lol.

Glad to hear it Chic, it deserved to get more use than I was giving it, glad it's found a good home.

The current German version does not have the tent pole clamps. Bah.
