trouthunterdjSwivel Studs for an old Remington???
Hi,
I bring my questions here because it never fails, someone has the answer. I really appreciate the advice and help on AR.
I bought a High Grade 722 stock that I think had some sort of swivels at some time. The guy that I bought the stock from thought they were original from the factory but he lost them years ago. The front swivel goes through the stock on some sort of metal bushing. There is an inlet in the barrel channel for a washer to hold the swivel. The rear swivel was just a screw in type.
Does anyone know where I could get replacements to fit?
If anyone else knows what I'm talking about and can explain it better, feel free to help.
Thanks as always,
ddj

tin cannone for a 722, but...
http://www.brownells.com/aspx/ns/store/ProductDetail.as...emington%20-%20Rugeralso, a swivel stud made with a coarse wood screw, like those used on the butt stock, are available for the fore arm, using a shorter screw.

trouthunterdjTin Can,
Thanks alot. I'm not sure which one I need. I'm not sure of the demensions and differences shown here.
Any ideas?
Would the Rem 725 be about the same? Same vintage?
Did the 725 have a metal bushing for the front swivel?

tin canAre you looking to restore the rifle to original, or do you just want to get a sling on it?
Maybe call Brownells in the morning, and talk to a tech, they're very helpful.
I'm outta bullets as far as what I know to help here, but the real 'smiths, etc, will be along in due time, I'm sure.

trouthunterdjThanks again,
I don't want to make any new holes. If I can find something that works and looks good, I'm OK.
The only problem I see is finding something to fit tight in that metal bushing and be long enough.

YUMANI think just about any standard set will work. the front one has a screw that goes through and has a nut inside. May have to shorten the screw to clear the barrel. The back one is just a coarse thread wood screw that screws into the rear hole.
