lindy2The question is, where would one then find a receiver to go with it?
They are just standard 98 bolts and will fit any standard length 98 action. Only diff is the hollow bolt handle. There are still 33-40s out there with the wrong bolt.

Glen71I posted this because I thought I remembered someone on AR recently mentioning he had acquired a G33/40 without a bolt. I could not find that post, and no better than is my memory, I may have that all wrong!
I came across it while looking for Mexican Mauser bolt parts.
I still have a few I picked up 30 years ago when people were butchering them up. No, I don't want to sell any.

Unless someone is trying to "put back" a military version, albeit a mis-matched version, I'm not sure why they would want an original bolt. Most any standard length military Mauser bolt will work and the bolt knob is usually one of the first things that gets changed on a 33/40 custom.
Yes, I keep stocks, barrels and bands on hand to restore them to military configuration; they are now worth more like that than they are messed up into a sporter. But if you insist on making one onto a sporter, no need for an original bolt, as you say.

Glen71Now it is. Sold for $305.
Man, I paid less than that for my last G33/40 action.
Wow; I will sell one for $300; the bolt I mean. That is crazy.

Was that when gas was $1.00 a gallon?
