Without an adaptor that is.

Thanks for any info you can give.

I recently bought a brass loop and a brush for my 20 cal Dewey rod. This takes the smaller size(8-40?) thread. I ended up going with Dewey brand for both, one mail order & the other local. I also go an adapter of sorts for a 22 cal Dewey rod.

I looked on their web site to be sure of the thread size & went from there. In my case the 20 cal & 22 cal take different sizes & threaded tips. One of the common other companies didn't have anything for my 20 cal rod. So I'd say check the threads & maybe take a tip to the store to check if the new one will fit, if able.

Most cleaning jags for .22 cal & up are 8X32 thread, muzzle loader jags are 10X32.

.20 cal & smaller are 5X40 thread as the diameter is too small for #8 threads.
