1 Shot HunterShortening M98/Mark X lock time...
Gents -
I notice the distance of firing pin travel is much shorter on my Remington 700 than my Mark X.
What needs to be changed to shorten it on a M98 type bolt?
I would assume the camming contours would have to be changed, as well as the spring and...?

I don't know the answer to your question, but I would say that if you are using your Mark X as a hunting rifle the difference is so small (in milliseconds) that it probably isn't going to make a hell of a lot of difference in whether you bag your game or not.

ramrod340What I have done is simply get a speedlock cocking piece from a Late MKX or Daly and they cut the cocking ramp accordingly. Works fine. The force to raise the bolt is increased a little.
Can't argue with 22WRF. I doubt you would ever see a difference in accuracy.

1 Shot HunterI just was wondering. I absolutely agree that it would be a useless exercise for me... I just couldn't help but notice and wonder if I could!
Thanks guys.
