Does anyone know whether it is reasonably possible to remove and later restore the back seats in a late-model Suzuki Grand Vitara?

Unlike other brands, these sit up like bales of hay in the back when folded, making sleeping there a problem. I'd like to take them out and put in a hinged five-ply platform, extendable over part of the front seats to give the length needed. Luggage and camping goods could be stowed under the platform, saving everything being removed at night.


But first, it would help if I could take out the seats. I don't think Suzuki encourages this: does anyone know why?
