J_ZolaUsed one ton which one?
My 1995 f350 is dying from frame rot. If you were looking for a used one ton what would you buy and avoid. I have heard about the 6.0L ford diesel so that is on my no buy list.

LuckyduckerIf you are wanting a diesel I would recommend either the GM Duramax or the Dodge Cummins. I don't like the Ford diesels, especially for the fact that a little cold and they need have an engine heater plugged in to start. My Cummins doesn't even have a block heater and it starts every time.

J_ZolaIt appears all the owners of one ton trucks think they are quite special. So far two local to me. Dodge with 180k miles for 19k rusted to death, chevy 2500, 05,124k miles for 20k.

Maybe for the old Fords!
My 6.7 (2012) has never had any issues starting. And, there is very few places colder than where I live (gets -40 at times)!
Do NOT buy a 6,0 or 6.4 Ford. I would look at the new 6.7's. Could be happier with mine. Dodges have good motors but the trucks are built on scrap tin.
A Duramax is nice for a Sunday drive!
