GatogordoAnyone with experience with electric ATVs or 4x4s?
I am contemplating/toying with the idea of buying one of these for use on my ranch, probably one of the 4x4 (that is two person plus like a Kawasaki Mule or similar). The two I have read an add for are the Stealt, made in Louisiana, and the Titan, made in Texas. I'd sure like to hear from anyone who has one of these or knows REAL information about them. Thanks.

RVL IIII've got a BadBoyBuggy, love it!
PM any ?s
I think they're a great vehicle, with lots of torque, they're quiet, and don't have the smell of a gas or diesel engine. But, you have to realize there are limitations over a conventionally powered ATV.
You say you're going to use one on your ranch, which is a great application for them, it can be parked and recharged every day. I thought about getting one, but I travel and hunt all over the country. Not all places I go to have electricity and getting one recharged would be a problem. I'd rather not haul a generator along to some of the locations that don't have electrical hookups.
Something to consider is how big is your ranch? If you've driven the buggy to the farthest reaches of the ranch and you run out of juice, it's not like you can bring in a five gallon can of electricity!
One thing too you have to consider is how long do the batteries last in these vehicles and what is the replacement cost when needed?

h kittleI was a dealer for the Ruff and Tuff units. I gave up being a dealer for various reasons. Of the 5 or 6 2x4's I sold we experienced almost no problems. Of the 5 or 6 4x4's we sold we have had all back in my repair shop for one thing or another.

N E 450 No2Here is a question.
Lets say you have an electric ATV.
If you run out of juce, would it be possible to have one of the small Honda/Yamaha, etc generators, and use that to power the electric motors to get you back to camp?
Kinda like an ATV Hybrid.

eezridrI have seen some of the bad boy buggies and they look neat for quiet transportation. If you are going through allot of mud (river bottoms) I would think that might draw down those batteries pretty fast.
I am always looking for a way to make my ATV's run as quiet as a car.

ShofDo a Google search on "Bens Silent Rider." I've ridden BSR equipped atvs and were impressed with the reduction in sound.

470CapstickA2I have an 09 bad boy XT, and love it... but keep
in mind... I don't go mudding or creek blasting.
I run around on mostly dirt roads, and hard
packed trails. I've owned 3 polaris rangers,
and loved them for being workhorses...
But I went with the BBB, because after scouting
around with a buddy on one... I was amazed how
many deer and hogs we rolled up on... yes they
were looking at us, but in the ranger they would
have already bolted. It fits in the bed of
my 8 ft truck bed, I can use it at any sporting
clays course (wife loves that fact), I do have
a little honda generator I can carry if I ever
thought I would exhaust the 30 mile range, or
use at the deer camp to recharge...
It's great for two guys and a bunch of gear, or
3 - 4 guys with just guns or bows.. Just
remember, what it's primarily designed for, to
get you around, not haul 6 guys and 500 lbs
of corn... for that, get a ranger..
