Unless specially prepared by factory, only E10 (low ethanol mixes) are allowed/recommended. See you operator's manual for details.

The internal comustion engine requires roughly twice as much alachol as it dose gasoline, E85 is 85% alachol, without boring everyone with a lot of numbers to use E85 requires either modifing or moving to a new fule delivery systen ( different carb, larger fule injectors )and a much colder range of spark plug. Though E85 dose have the benefit of being the cheapest 105 octane fule on the market, and will make slightly more overall power than stright gasoline.

An engine will only produce more power with higher octane if the timing is set to take advantage of more octane.Don't leave out the fact that e85 will deliver 20% to 30% less fuel mileage than pure gasoline.

Interestingly, burning E85 which is basically 85% Ethyl Alcohol burns a little gasoline and alcohol according to the following chemical formula:

C2HOH + O2 ---> CO2 + H2O and energy, plus products of the burning of gasoline CO, CO2, SO2, etc.

But the primary product is CO2 (which formerly was considered benign or even beneficial) and water.
