I love my pick up but long for a Jeep . . . perhaps dreams do come true. Looks like Jeep will be reintroducing the Scrambler in 2017.

Well, Mike, we know this one is coming out so I think I will be saving pennies and possibly sell my FJ45. Don't know that the Africa Wrangler will see the light of day. Hope they make it in "I wish they would make it in my PH's 70 Series Toyota Tan".

The 70 series Landcruiser is wonderful, they make a wagon, troop carrier, double cab bakkie and single cab bakkie.

I moved stateside from Australia in 2014. We got the double cab bakkie Toyota Land Cruiser 70 in late 2012 or sometime in 2013 for the first time. The mining companies were the ones that got the Aussie gov to allow their importation.

There are tons of 70 series troop carriers in Australia, and even more 70 series single cab pickups are very common. Especially amongst tradesmen.

The 70 series wagon is damn rare. I only ever saw 3 or 4. Or maybe it is just damn expensive.

Since it is a Chrysler product...Cummins is a possibility for sure. With that...it would definitely give the African Land Cruiser a run for its money!

With a Cummins you get the great gas mileage that seems to elude all off road vehicles. Plenty of torque. Dependability/low maintenance especially when you venture far and don't want to be a mechanic. 300,000-400,000 miles to brake it in. That is a long term investment worthy of consideration.

Landcruiser 70's are built on a one ton chassis. They are a bit of a different beast. Not sure about Defenders. I think this is the last year of the Defender anyway.

More likely to see it with the 3.0 VM Motori engine that is in the Ram 1500 EcoDiesel… Pure crap.

If they put the new Cummins 5.0 V8 with the Aisin transmission in the Jeep that Nissan is putting in the 2016 Titan, they would sell like hotcakes.

I'm suspect of anything made by Chrysler. That scrambler looks nice. Can you buy it with all the electronics removed, cut out lounge chairs, ect. I'd like one that come from the factory like it was meant to go off road rather then being equipped to give a comfortable ride to some wealthy guys college age daughter.

No, of coarse not but you can get it with a bare minimum of add-on's. When I ordered mine in 2013 it was to remove things, not add them. Electronics hasn't been a problem on the JK line.

I don't think Fiat-Chrysler uses Cummings anymore.
