OzultraWtb new atv tires
I am in the market for new tires for my Honda Rincon 650. I mainly ride on hard dirt roads and occasionally find a mud hole or two. I want a tire that will ride smooth and pull hard. I need the tire to be tough enough to ride through woods and stumps while heavily loaded and not puncture. What do you recommend?

Good luck. I doubt there are any tires that will resist a well placed hardened branch off of a stump in the sidewall. Driver common sense has a lot to do with tire life in some cases. Frankly, I'd suggest you check with your Honda dealer, some people buy new ATV's and have the dealer change tires and rims before taking possession. You can often buy both of these at a discount to just the price of the tires alone and don't have to fool with mounting, etc and have your old set around for an emergency spare. In addition, if you're not in a rush and are in some metro area, watch Craig's list for similar deals.

dempseyOf course any tire can puncture.......that being said getting it's not a complete crap shoot either. Start with an 8ply tire, even a tire meant for a UTV. Look at a radial tire for a better ride and avoid dedicated mud tires. The choices are vast.

Rembrandt1Bullet proof tires.....Kevlar belted 6 ply Essex brand tires. Only tire I've found that can withstand locust thorns and nails.

JBoutfishnTake a look at America's/Discount Tire. Just got a set for my Kawa Brute Force 750. Full 6 ply, excellent tread. Excellent price.

phurley5I just put a set of 8 ply "Sparticus" on my Rincon 680 and have to say they busted the Colorado snow just fine. They packed several loads of Elk meat without a whimper.
