I have a 1972. The only year they came without the tank wheels. They will go anywhere if you can hang on. Before I got it I thought they would be hard to steer with the front wheel pulling. On mine there is no noticable torque steer ? if thats the right word. It steers as easy as a normal motorcycle

cousin had one when we were young. It was a cool unit and like was said would go anywhere that you could stay on the seat.

I read about them a few years ago and really wanted one until I found the only thing that dont do well in is gumbo mud like we have where I hunt in Mississippi, so it was a no go for me.

Like a goat in the mountains from what I have read.

I think the best one had the hollow[fillable] wheels and the west bend or chrysler two stroke engine ,i have an original test in a popular mechanics 1960s mag ,which said one use was, hauling fire hoses up sky scraper stairs ! i had the model with spoked wheels and four stroke ,why they put spoked wheels on it i dont know but that was all i could get ,once i floated it across a creek got it to the other side and it started first go and rode off .The front chain would get loose after every ride which was annoying ,clutch slipped mainly because it didnt have correct belt ,an old fellow i met said he had one, and wanted to ride it up Ayers Rock or Uluru years ago ,if you tried to do that now they would kill you .A unimog and one of these on the back would take you anywhere you wanted to go .if they improved them a bit more and made the front drive disconnectable ,they had gears ,and a few other improvements they could be alot better machines

I see them for sale on ebay...not sure if they still make them. They got quite expensive for what they were, really...like a 2 WD minibike with a 1-speed lawnmower engine.

They still make them and yes they are very expensive. However they are amazing bikes. They work in places no other vehicle can go. Think of a motorized horse. It will go up hills that you can't come back down. I have one of the old two stroke models and it is very handy.

I rode my brothers the last couple of days worked very well over some rough ground.

Not real fast but well go lots of places

A lot more bike then the mini bikes I rode in the 60's

I know the Jordanian Army has some.

I saw a demo one time where they were driving one over a 55 gallon drum, simulation going over a down tree, which happens all the time on roads and trails in the woods..
