Got a recall notice to lower emissions on my 2017 Ram.2500.

I've checked out the usual forums and called the dealer to find out: Does is lower performance or use more fuel. Nobody has the answer. Look's like CA will not renew registration without evidence of this "improvement"..Does not mention other states

Anyone have information...I'm tempted to make a pass on this ..least at this time

I am going to wait it out on my 2016. Not enough information for me to risk a possible expensive repair at a latter date.

Yeah..some years ago a friend with an F250 went through this same type of recall

Mileage dropped from 22 to 18 and he felt there was a drop in performance.

The wisdom of burning more fuel to make cleaner air escapes me

I have the older 1993 12V version, so far not required to smog it.
Is it so that the newer ones will not run without electronics?
