With great sorrow my wife and I needed to do the final act of love to our beloved friend, hunting companion and competition buddy after 14 1/2 years of joy. Maggie pawed her way into our lives from 9/21/2000 to 4/30/2015 and she will be dearly missed.
The above picture is of my wife with Maggie achieving a Working certificate after many years of rehabilitation from a severe rear leg injury incurred in an AKC hunt test at 2 years old. The leg injury really affected her mobility and extensive competitive training was out of the picture.
She still was able to get a Canine Good Citizen certificate and became certified as a Therapy Dog. She was a church mouse only coming out of seclusion when she heard the leases dog dish or whistle. Even tho I could not compete her I still gave her a little training with my other labs and she was able to perform to the level of my Master Hunter Dog but unable to handle the pace of 3 series one after the other.
I would call her the Fat Girl since she pegged the scales at almost 90 pounds, my wife would use princess to offset my insults. Years and infirmity brought her down to 60 pounds and life became too much for her, Maggie God speed and we will meet again

Texas KillartistUnfortunately I have felt and understand your loss. My condolences.
My condolences. I've been in your shoes more than once myself. It's a tough thing to do but you made the right decision. Remember the old saying - nothing can take away the pain of losing a good friend, but a puppy helps.

GatogordoI share you deep sense of loss. Dogs, and especially labs, are a gift to all of us, but they just don't live long enough. Better days.

Idaho Sharpshooterthe world is a bit colder when a good and faithful friend leaves us.
Cherish those years together.
