Ryan CampbellMy Dog Cooper
My Blue Lacy, Cooper, with a deer he found this year. He found 4 deer this past season.
The Hunt goes on forever, the season never ends.
I didn't learn this by reading about it or seeing it on TV. I learned it by doing it.

Cazador humildeGood picture. Isn't the Blue Lacy the state dog of this greatest of all 50 states?
Nice buck, by the way.

BakesRyan, ever thought of training him to find a live one

------------------------------
A mate of mine has just told me he's shagging his girlfriend and her twin. I said "How can you tell them apart?" He said "Her brother's got a moustache!"

From the TX regs:
• Dogs may not be used to hunt deer in this state. ◦A person is prohibited from using a dog to hunt or pursue deer in this state. A person who violates this law is subject to a fine of $500-$4,000 and/or a year in jail. Additionally, a person's hunting and fishing licenses may be revoked or suspended. In addition, no person may possess a shotgun and buckshot or slugs while in the field with dogs on another person's land during an open deer season in Angelina, Hardin, Harris, Harrison, Houston, Jasper, Jefferson, Liberty, Montgomery, Nacogdoches, Newton, Orange, Panola, Polk, Rusk, Sabine, San Augustine, San Jacinto, Shelby, Trinity, Tyler, and Walker counties.
◦ It is unlawful to use dogs to trail a wounded deer in the counties listed above.
◦ Not more than two dogs may be used to trail a wounded deer in counties not listed above. A "wounded deer" is a deer leaving a blood trail.
(22 counties out of 254)
I think the counties where it is illegal to trail wounded are the counties that were the last where it was legal to run live deer with dogs. Our slice of the old South. 'Not judging either way. TPWD probably didn't want any headaches in the field with the old boys that had grown up hunting that way saying the deer was wounded when it wasn't, so they made it illegal to have dogs period in those counties.

I used my Beagle 3 times to find deer that I shot at near dark, I was in alot brushier country and if it not for "Grover" I would not have found them till it was to late to salvage.

MyDogsHuntNow THAT sir, is a nice looking dog.
Here's my Sally dog.
She's skeered of Deer. Thinks they're electric.
She'll find ya a Cat or Coon though. ;>

Field sports are not about targets and scores. Score-keeping is necessary in competitions between humans, unattractive in competitions with weaker adversaries. Constant scores of many to zero do not smell of struggle and chance. They smell of greed.

Hey, is your Sally related to my Spud dog? He came from Rexburg, ID.
They have a family resemblance...

Firstcoueswas80Mine with his only claim to fame... Unfortunately, I don't think he had as much to do with this as I would like to say... More than anything we walked into a small pack of coyotes... They saw him, I let out a challenge howl and out they came. Unfortunately, my AR was about 12 inches high so I missed the big male as he came out.... 3 times. I finally busted this little male.... Between the eyes after aiming for the bottom of his chest!
