Lost Cookie today
Quite a few guys on AR have hunted with this special dog, She was born here at Skinner Creek and lived a busy 6 years with pushing 400 treed big game critters.Fearless on cougar and bear saving many of her teammates from the jaws of the the enemy, she also spent time cuddling on the couch with my wife and kids. It wasn't a bear or cougar that killed but a rapid spreading cancer.
Cookie was always a favorite with all the hunters, she insisted on getting all the love they had to share.
We will miss Cookie.

Condolences ! Always tough to lose a good dog. Maybe a plaque on a tree where she bayed a cat or bear is in order to memorialize her. Put one up for one of my labs on a pond we used to hunt. Sometimes I can swear I still her whining as the birds toll into the decoys.

My condolences. It's been almost a year since I lost my Lab, Nikki, to cancer. I think of her every day. Dogs ask for so little and give so much in return.

Never worry about theory as long as the machinery does what it's supposed to do.

Always sad to read when someone loses a special dog. Lost mine over 3 years ago, still think about him a lot.

A sad day.

There are many good sayings about Men and their dogs.

A couple favorites from my Grandfather, who raised Border Collies.

1. Next time you think you're important, try bossing somebody else's dog around.

2. Leave your dog and your wife in the car on a hot day and run into the store for "...five minutes..." and let me know which one is glad to see you half an hour later.

3. My favorite: the more I am around people, the more I like my dog.

Sounds like you had a very special one.
