nkonkaGeorge,
a couple of years ago I "hunted" Mitchell Farms, the pheasant place. They had English cockers hunting with me-- very neat dogs in a manageable size.Big heart, eager, durable-- it was 10 below when i was there!

WinkI have owned two and my brother presently owns one (in California). We have always selected them in France for two reasons: I'm here and the feed-back we got in the USA is that the US bred dogs don't seem to have the same even temper and fearless nonchalance that the Euro bred dogs have. There's a lot of heart in those little dogs, a great nose and they stay close to the hunter. They don't seem to have especially sharp eyes though.

AK HunterThere are two great breeder/trainers in the Bismarck area that specialize in cockers for hunting and field trialing:
Glencoe Kennels
Oahe Kennels
I have hunted pheasants with dogs from both kennels - simply outstanding dogs.
