Gerhard.DelportI would like to share some images of Ryker
I have not owned a dog for almost 10 years due to places I worked in the world.
I also promised myself that I will not own any other dog but a German Shorthair Pointer but I will only own one if I have the time and space to train and work with him.
Last year September I moved back to Dullstroom on the Escarpment of Mpumalanga South Africa and things started falling into place.
So last year November I got to meet Ryker in November for the 1st time. He was keen to become a partner of FFF Safaris...
Here are a few images of the pup's progress over the last year...
We work around 6700 ft above sea level and the pup is getting great stamina from running the hills at least once a week.
Our main quarry is the Redwing and Greywing Francolins. These bird species are considered as the champaign birds of game birds and wings shooting of South Africa in the upland bird hunting environment.
This summer we will keep working on stamina and discipline.
Once winter comes along from May 2019 we will be ready to hunt and guide wingshooters.

Gundog 64Beautiful dog, and a fine choice in breeds. Have 3 GSP's, one being a new pup, I will never have any other breed of dog.

Gerhard.DelportThank you for the kind remarks,
He just turned a year old.
We still have a lot of work to do and experience to gain but I am looking forward to hunt redwing and greywing francolin next year May-Aug

BuffHunter63I owned a GSP for 13 years. He was the best pointing dog I have ever seen.
I regret to this day, that on our last hunt together, I missed a cock pheasant he had found and pinned beautifully with a rock solid point.
The rooster came up, and I shot and the bird kept flying.
Old Buck, who was in his early teens by then, just looked back at me with a quizzical look as if to say "Am I wasting my time with you?".
Congratulations on your dog and I hope you both share hundreds of great times together!

What's the problem? I'll tell you. I went and had three kids, who are like little money vortexes. I love 'em, and I've had a grand time as a dad these past 15 years, but they are costly little critters! Someday, someday I'll be back!

Bill/OregonWhat a wonderful pup, Gerhard. Hope you have many wonderful seasons afield with Ryker.

There is hope, even when your brain tells you there isn’t.

p dog shooterI had a GSP had a nose on her that wouldn't quit.
I saw her stick her nose in the wind run a half mile at full speed and lock up on a rooster.
Better nose then any of my labs.
But for most of the hunting I did she was to far ranging.
She was great in the SD prairies hunting the big Fields.
In the thick north woods she was easy to lose.
Very hard mouth she would mush a bird.
But she had a great nose she could find birds like crazy.
